Measuring

How to measure your window space
Follow these general guidelines when measuring your windows for blinds.

Use a metal tape - not a cloth tape which will stretch. Accurate measurements are essential to the nearest 1/8" (3mm). We accept metric or imperial dimensions.
Firstly decide whether to fit your blind inside or outside the recess.

Inside Mount:

Inside mount Inside length Plan to position the blind to avoid window handles, locks or any other obstructions.

Allow for the thickness of ceramic tiles in any undecorated areas and allow for any floorcoverings still to be fitted.

Measure the width (W) across the top, centre and bottom of the recess recording the narrowest width.

Measure the length/drop (D) left, right and centre, of the top of the recess to the sill, recording the longest height.

We will make width deductions to allow for operating clearance.

Outside Mount:

Outside length

Measure the opening width (W). If there is room, add at least 3" for horizontal blinds (4" for vertical blinds) to each side of the window opening for minimum light gap and maximum privacy.

Measure the length/drop (D). Add a minimum of 2½" in height to allow for mounting brackets above the opening and add your desired overlap for the bottom.

Please note that the manufacturer cannot be held responsible where inaccurate measurements are supplied.
